BOMA Portland Committees

 
“CELEBRATE BOMA”
Plans our annual members-only party. Selects theme, location, entertainment and menu. Secures sponsors. 
 
CODES & OPERATING
Examines and makes recommendations on potential code changes and agency interpretations of building codes, fire and life safety, ADA, seismic regulations, SDC’s and other state and local agency regulations impacting building owners and managers.
 
FINANCE
Responsible for reviewing and providing guidance for the organization's financial matters. Specifically, the committee assures internal controls, independent audit, and financial analysis.
 
GOLF
Organizes the BOMA Annual Invitational Golf Tournament, selects a course, obtains sponsorship and prizes, and coordinates tournament activities the day of the tournament.
 
LEGISLATIVE
Reviews and determines the direction for legislative activities on the National, State and Local level. Actively monitors issues impacting BOMA members.
 
MARCOM
The Marketing and Communications committee actively pursues all methods to get BOMA recognized through the media.   Alerts the media to BOMA’s local, state and national legislative issues. Seeks out opportunities for local press opportunities.
 
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Responsible for the recruitment and retention of members.
 
PRODUCT AND SERVICES EXPO
Plans and coordinates BOMA Portland’s Annual Trade Show. Secures BOMA member booths and sponsorship participation. 
 
PROGRAM/EDUCATION
Develops topics and speakers for membership and education meetings. Coordinates the schedule, administration, locations and support of the educational offerings each year.

SUSTAINABILITY
To promote environmentally sustainable business practices in the commercial real estate industry. Actively monitor issues impacting BOMA members.
 
TOBY
The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Committee is responsible for coordinating the annual, local phase of the international BOMA Office Building of the Year Awards Program. The committee actively solicits entrants in the local competition, adheres to the criteria for entry and judging as developed by BOMA International.
